American Safari (3 Day)
These backcountry trips are a great way to travel through the backcountry . Travel up mountains, into canyons and over ridges without the burden of a heavy pack. These trips are for people looking to develop their backcountry skills and experience a Rocky Mountain adventure. We often see elk, deer, marmot, raptors on these trips. There have even been moose and bear spottings in the park.
Climb high, gain confidence, and have fun.
Our Thunder Lake Fastpacking trips are available throughout the Summer and Fall. This trip provides you with a foundation of skills to head into the backcountry in a lightweight and minimalistic fashion, so you can make miles, and enjoy the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park. We will use llamas or horses to carry in the heaviest of gear as we basecamp at Thunder Lake. From camp, we will explore the surrounding wilderness, from the continental divide to a summit attempt.
