Course covering the fundamentals to follow and lead routes requiring traditional gear placement and anchors. Skills covered: Passive and active protection placement, self equalizing anchors, figure eight cord anchors, trad leading technique, rope management, route selection, hanging belays, natural hazards and applied physics. Prerequisites: Sport Leading or equivalent.
Leading traditional climbs requires significant levels of skill and practice. It is important to set up a solid foundation so that you can build a strong skill set and keep you and your followers safe. This course has a strong emphasis on gear placement, self rescue, and multi pitch techniques.
